I arrived for Happy Hour at the Met between 9-10pm. The tribute act was advertised on posters and the TV screens to start ‘@ 10’ but actually started over a hour late at 11.19pm. This was a disappointment as I pre booked a taxi for midnight assuming the 10’oclock show would be over.

When he started, he opened with the intro from the Royal Albert Hall in 2001 and performed 4 swing numbers including Mr Bojangles. Smoke filled the Met bar as the intro from Live at Knebworth in 2003 was played, the performer changed costume and electrified the audience with Let Me Entertain You, the audience responded well to this by chanting back the song lyrics.

He then performed ‘Feel’ as a pitch perfect performance and mixed it up with the verse of ‘Rock DJ’ in the middle part of the song. The audience responded well shouting ‘Yes you can!’

He then performed an amazing version of ‘Strong’ before shouting ‘Robbie Williams’ as the crowd cheered. He then shouted ‘Garry Barlow’ to which he expected the crowd to boo but they cheered instead!

He then performed a new song called’ Different’  in which he sounded very similar to the original artist, even though he looked more like Michael Buble. Mid way through this song my taxi arrived and I had to dash. All in all if he started when he was scheduled I think it would have been an amazing night.
