Scarlets members and supporters are warmly invited to bring along their Llanelli RFC and Scarlets memorabilia to an Open Day at Parc y Scarlets on Saturday 22nd June.
The Scarlets will launch a new initiative later in the year which will allow supporters and visitors alike to travel back in time and relive some of Llanelli and Scarlets’ most treasured moments.
Scarlets supporters are heroes one and all and we are inviting you to join us at our Open Day on Saturday 22nd June to share your magic moments and memorabilia from supporting Llanelli and Scarlets throughout their 140 year history with us.
Nia Lloyd Scarlets Heritage Project Manager said: “With over 140 years of history our supporters have undoubtedly collected many interesting items over the years and we thought it would be a fantastic idea to invite people along to an Open Day for supporters to share their stories and most treasured Scarlets possessions.
“With the Heritage Trail opening later this year we are keen to see scrapbooks, photographs, letters and all other forms of Scarlets memorabilia. We would be delighted if people wanted to give or loan any items which we do not already possess.
“We believe that our memories are made of our supporters and would love to hear all of your stories. We would also be happy to photograph or copy anything which people do not want to part with.”
As the Scarlets celebrate their rich and colourful history with the soon to be launched Heritage Trail we’re also launching a search for our longest serving supporter.
Nia Lloyd added: “This club and region owes so much to its supporters and members; we often hear of people supporting for decades with cherished memories of cheering the team on from the Tanner Bank or travelling to every away fixture and so on.
“These supporters are the lifeblood of our community and we would like to hear more of these stories and memories and reward our most loyal and longstanding supporters.”
You can also send your stories, memories and any pictures you’d like to share of supporting the Scarlets over the years to heritage@scarlets.co.uk
The Scarlets have been supported in their plans and bid to the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) in a joint collaboration with Llanelli RFC, the former players association and Crys16, the Scarlets’ Supporters Trust along with support from stadium partners, Carmarthenshire County Council.
