The Kilkenny Cat was host to Llanelli Music Scene’s Band of the Month Night on 29th June where three fabulous bands played live sets for the locals.
The opening Band was the brilliant ‘Searching For David’ who played a blinding set with full passion in their music and it was hard to believe that this was only the band’s fourth gig since they formed as they sounded so polished and professional. One person in the pub told me they thought the band sounded like rock band Creed and another person told me they thought that Searching For David ‘s singer sounded like Eddie Vedder from Pearl Jam. I think you will just have to see them live to see what you think!
Check out Searching for David on their facebook page and see them live in the Kazbar this coming Saturday
Second up was A Sudden Disturbance who played some great original songs including Decembers Call, Forgotten Memories and Give me a Reason. Cover songs included an epic cover of Alice Coopers song Poison and the Robbie Williams song ‘Feel’ which ASD played with their own cool unique slant.
Headlining act of the night was the mighty ‘ Naked Ape Society‘ who played their first ever gig in the Llanelli area on the night. This three piece band played a fabulous set showcasing their rock n roll talent playing their original songs consisting of great guitar solos, powerful vocals and top rhythm and bass playing. Between songs vocalist Pat also entertained the crowd with his witty humour. During the latter half of the set a cover of a Led Zepplin song was played superbly and got people up dancing before the set sadly had to come to an end due to the time curfew.
The next Band of the Month Night is at the Kilkenny Cat on 27th July
