Plaid Cymru Llanelli are hosting a ‘Rally Against Austerity’ event taking place on Saturday 13th July starting at 10.00am on Vaughan Street, Llanelli Town Centre.
The rally provides an opportunity for local residents to join with Plaid in opposing the cuts being imposed on our communities by the U.K and Welsh Governments.
There are 6 important key points to the campaign, these are:
- Building Our Economy
- Axing The Bedroom Tax
- Protecting Our Disabled
- Supporting Our Students
- Opposing Local Fire Cuts
- Saving Our A+E
Sean Rees, Plaid Llanelli Press Officer said:
“Jobs and the economy have been and will always remain a priority for the Party of Wales. There is no doubt that austerity is failing, it has also been self-defeating while the debt continues to rise. We in Plaid completely reject the austerity measures and have put forward plans for increased investment in vital public services as well as developing transport links in order to create jobs and grow our weak and fragile economy. We also remain committed to safeguarding our vital hospital services especially the A+E unit locally.”
“Plaid Cymru is the only elected party in Wales which is committed to building a better, stronger and more equal nation for all. Therefore we encourage residents to join with us at the rally in order to outline and achieve a real alternative to austerity.”
