Ammanford Big Day Out 2013 was a great success with thousands of people visiting on one of the hottest days of the year to see the sports themed parade and to take part in the many exciting activities.
It was a frenetic day with activities such as laser combat and the climbing wall proving to be favourites, with hundreds having a go, with many others trying the sport taster sessions with everything from table tennis to Judo on offer to try.
Pantglas World of Nature’s bird of prey display was amazing with huge birds flying and diving to get the crowd going, before they were called into the ring to take part in the display. Children’s faces were a picture as the massive birds landed on their arms before flying away again!
People enjoyed the numerous stalls with everything from energy advice from SWALEC to airbrush tattoos, to designer bird boxes.
Free Bochau Coch face painting was great success in the Carmarthenshire County Council marquee as well as the free cookery workshops by Pumpkin Patch who made sushi and smoothies. Ammanford Silver Band added a traditional note to the day.
The football tournament saw 400 children playing in a well contested day of exciting matches.
