Crowds gathered in Llanelli Town Centre on Saturday morning to join Plaid in the fight against Austerity.
They tackled local issues which have been concerning the residents of Llanelli for too long, such as saving our A&E, building our ecomony, axing the bedroom tax, protecting our disabled, opposing the local fire cuts and supporting Welsh students.
Among the guest speakers were Plaid MEP Jill Evans and Plaid Cymru national chair woman, Helen Mary Jones.
“There is no doubt that Austerity is failing. It has also been self defeating while the debt continues to rise” says Sean Rees, of Plaid’s Llanelli branch.
“We in Plaid completely reject the austerity measures and have put forward plans for increased investment in vital public services as well as developing transport links in order to create jobs and grow our weak and fragile economy.
A local student, Sarah Louise Dunkley, from Penyfan had this to say:
“The rally was inspiring and extremely informative. Helen Mary Jones drew people in with her powerful and meaningful speech. Being a student myself I could completely agree with everything they had to say about supporting local students. I am definitely team Plaid!”
The future looks bright for Llanelli when all speakers gave speeches promising to fight for issues that are increasingly affecting the residents of the town and surrounding areas. But the question remains, will you be backing Plaid as they tackle these problems one by one?
