What another great night of live music it was  on Saturday  27th July at the Kilkenny Cat with Llanelli Music Scene’s July Band of the Month Event

The night kicked off with Mr Lazarus Carpenter who entertained all present with his original and very vibrant and melodic folk music and he topped off his performance with humorous banter between songs which worked very well to produce an all round great set.

Next up were The Alley Cats who also entertained the crowd with a lively set and a great mix of tunes including covers from artists including The Kinks, Bryan Adams and Free which were well played and well sung by their petite female vocalist with a big voice.

Headline Act of the night were Stand Up and Shout who put on yet another solid rocking show of covers and original tunes including original song ‘No Time’ which is available from the Llanelli music scene April edition of the downloadable cd available from Llanellitown.com . The band also treated us to a new song Closer which is off their forthcoming EP which is due for release on 2nd August. Closer sounded great and I would say is a good indicator of the great tracks we can expect to hear on the new EP. Stand Up and Shout are a great gigging band, they rocked the Cat and they looked like they were enjoying playing every last bit of their great set.

Catch Stand Up and Shout at the Masons Arms for their Album Launch gig on 2nd August and be sure to pick up a copy of their new EP whilst there

Thank you to all the performers and to everyone at the Cat for a great night

Llanelli Music Scene‘s next Band of The Month Event will take place on 24th August at the Kilkenny Cat
