The Welsh Government is inviting charities and third sector groups to apply for up to ÂŁ1.6 million of funding for projects that tackle inequality and discrimination and help make Wales a fairer place (Thurs 1st August).
The money is available for a range of projects that could cover areas such as addressing hate crime, supporting marginalised groups and helping disabled people live independently.
Ministers are calling on organisations to come forward with proposals that make a real difference to peopleâs lives.
Announcing the funding, Communities & Tackling Poverty Minister Jeff Cuthbert said:
âWe want Wales to be a country built on fairness and equality. This means zero-tolerance of discrimination and helping people from different backgrounds live together. Supporting projects that encourage equality and understanding in our communities will be central to this. I look forward to seeing suggestions that make a real difference to peopleâs lives and help our communities prosper.
âWe are doing this against a backdrop of a tough economic climate and cuts to our budget, so we need to make every penny of public money count and ensure that this funding delivers on the ground and people see a difference to their lives.â
