A PCSO in Llanelli town has been honoured by community leaders at a recent Community Awards Ceremony for Tyisha and Glanymor.
Alexa Botto received the awards earlier this summer.
The awards were for Neighbourhood Officer of the Year and the Chairpersons Choice Award.
“Receiving these awards is such a tremendous honour and I’m thrilled that the community feel I deserve them,” said PCSO Botto. “I love working in this area, and the past year I’ve spent on the patch has taught me so much about myself and why my work is important.”
Day to day, Alexa walks the beat down Station Road, around Tyisha and Seaside areas. She regularly visits local businesses, sheltered housing complexes and her local residents.
And her supervisor is equally as thrilled.
“This is the first time I’ve ever known an officer win two awards at this event,” said Sergeant Justin Evans. “It really shows that Alexa’s well thought of in the community, and it’s all credit to to her as she has only been in the job for a relatively short time.”
