The Masons Arms was filled with people on Saturday 17th August for three live Welsh language bands.

Three piece band Chwyn opened up the night, breaking with tradition by not having a bass player, with the rhythm section being played by the drummer and rhythm guitarist  in totality. They played an enjoyable melodic  set of soft rock/ indie original tunes  which was really good and the music continued to get more upbeat as their set when on.

Chwyn

Y Banditos were next up and this four piece band although fairly young in age presented as skilled musicians putting on a really good set of mostly original  indie rock songs, with a Welsh language version of the Arctic Monkeys song I Bet You Look Good On The Dance Floor.  Further into their set the bass player and guitarist swapped instruments  and the band played an excellent Welsh language cover of the Led Zeppelin song Rock  N Roll  with the bassist on guitar rocking out and playing a really ripping guitar solo. Very impressive well played set.

Y Banditos

Headlining band were Castro and this three piece band  put on a rocking punky set that got people standing up  and cheering right from the outset of their set. The atmosphere was good and the band ensured their set was filled with foot tapping tunes. Another great well played set. All in all a really good night with three really good Welsh Language bands.
