Llanelli Town play Newcastle Emlyn on Wednesday 25th September in their second Welsh League game of the season, hoping to beat last Saturday’s staggering crowd figure of 270 for their opening game of the season, a 3-1 win over Lliswerry.

Manager Bob Jeffrey was amazed at the response from the Llanelli public and is hoping for an even bigger crowd as the Reds look to avenge the 4-1 Welsh Cup defeat by the visitors at the start of the season.

With several local players now in the Reds squad, including Seaside protegy Steve Stone, Llanelli will be looking to rise further up the table after goals from Craig Frater and Liam Samuel (2), gave the Reds a great start to the season at Stebo.

Jeffrey said after the game, “I was amazed at the crowd to be honest, it was almost twice our Welsh Premier average last season.”

“Newcastle Emlyn offers another great opportunity for the Llanelli public to come out and see our new look side, we hope to build the support and emphasie that the club is there for all in the town and we hope to build it together for a bright future and keep football alive and kicking at the highest level possible in Llanelli.”

“We are grateful to the support that the Carmarthenshire League gave us in pre-season, when our future was unclear and would love to see the Carmarthenshire League community at Stebonheath on a regular basis this season.”
