IMPROVEMENTS continue to be made to services in Carmarthenshire despite the financial challenges, the Wales Audit Office has found.
The county council has to produce an annual report and improvement plan to provide information to the public about its services.
The Wales Audit Office audits both documents on behalf of the Welsh Government.
The Auditor General found that the council had continued to improve and was likely to secure continuous improvement during this financial year.
The news was welcomed by the council’s executive board at their meeting held earlier this week.
Leader Cllr Kevin Madge said: “It is reassuring to be given a clean bill of health by the Wales Audit Office.
“We want to provide the best services we can for people and we are doing this to the best of our ability.
“There is no doubt that this is going to be more difficult in the future with the financial challenges we face.”
The only recommendation made by the Wales Audit Office was that councillors should contribute more to the development and scrutiny of the authority’s key priorities and improvement plan.
