HUNDREDS of children and young people across West Wales will benefit from a new football development and education centre based at Coleg Sir Gar in Llanelli
Children and young people are being encouraged to attend a open trial day on Thursday October 3 at Coleg Sir Gar 5,30pm U9-U11 and 6,30pm U12-U16.
The centre managed by former Wales and Everton player Neville Southall MBE and PG10 Coaching, will provide opportunities for children and young people of all ages to take part in sport educational and football opportunities.
The centre will run in partnership with Coleg Sir Gar offering children and young people from the South and West Wales region with regular opportunities to be coached, gain accredited qualifications and also be given opportunities to travel globally to help develop their football and life skills.
Regular matches against professional football clubs and county sides have been arranged enabling children to play against quality opposition.
The centre will also have opportunities such as Futsal, Tiny Tots, Soccer Camps and much much more for primary school children aged 3-11 yrs and Secondary School young people aged 12-16yrs. As well as catering for the needs of young people 16-25yrs old.
The centre focuses on developing and increasing the skills of young footballers of all abilities providing opportunities to develop and learn in a fun and safe environment as well as provide talented children with a pathway to professional football. Whilst developing a professional attitude towards football whilst training with young players of like ability.
Each player will receive opportunities to play against professional football clubs as well as the very best in football training as well as a proper infrastructure to look after every players educational and welfare needs.
Young people will also be able to gain accredited qualifications in sport and help unemployed young people who may also not be in training prosper in so many fields of employment.
