Scarlets stars Liam Williams, Gareth Davies and Rob Evans headed to Pembroke RFC on Tuesday evening to spread the Scarlets gospel after a vibrant victory over Scottish side Edinburgh last Friday evening.
Pembroke RFC received a visit from the region’s Community Department on Tuesday evening, 1st October, as part of their roadshow.
The Scarlets Community Roadshow sees the region’s development officers and players head out into the region to offer training sessions at each of the regional clubs with a strong focus on encouraging participation, teamwork and fun through rugby.
Scarlets and Wales fullback Liam Williams was joined by fellow Scarlets Gareth Davies and Rob Evans at the club as they participated in the club’s mini and junior training session and offered their extended skills and knowledge of the game.
Pembrokeshire born Rob Evans said that being a part of the Scarlets is much more than just being a part of the professional team.
He said: “It’s great to come out in to the community and lend a helping hand with the training sessions.
“A lot of us at the Scarlets have come through the regional development system so it’s a pleasure to be able to offer something back to the clubs that have been so instrumental in our development over the years.
“The three of us had a great time at Pembroke and the kids were brilliant and were really enthusiastic to learn and show their skills.”
The Scarlets, along with the regional WRU development officers, are heading out into the community to encourage new players to take up rugby.
