Llanelli Music Scene’s Halloween Band of the Month Night took place on Saturday 26th October at the Kilkenny Cat and what a great night it was!!!
Ok.,So the weather was very wet and windy but that did not stop the pub filling up with an array of people in Halloween fancy dress costumes to watch two local bands Initial Reply and Searching for David rocking the Cat.
Five piece all girl band Initial Reply opened up the evening with their brilliant original song Archeology. This was followed by further original tunes including Hero and Escape and a great cover of the Lady Gaga song Applause. Positive feedback from the audience included a comment of ‘ They sound like ‘Paramore’ meets a female ‘Kids in Glass Houses’ crossed with’ You Me at Six’.
At the end of their set Initial Reply responded to chants from the audience for them to play more by repeating their song Escape as an encore, ending their set on a high with lots of applause of their own from a very pleased audience .

Headline act Searching for David started their set with original tune Science Fiction which is the theme tune for a pilot tv show entitled ‘In Your Town’ and the song is also available to listen to and to download for free on the Llanelli Music Scene downloadable cd for July 2013. From the outset of their set Searching for David immediately got audience members up dancing and singing along to their infectiously catchy original songs as they bounced around playing songs including ‘Marching on’ and a super cover version of Nirvana’s Territorial Pissings.
And like Initial Reply before them, at the end of their set, Searching for David responded to audience chants for them to play more by repeating their brilliant original song Science Fiction. All round an excellent night of local live music with Llanelli Music Scene at the Kilkenny Cat.
