Chair asks namesake for fundraising help!

CHAIR of Carmarthenshire County Council Cllr Terry Davies has turned to his namesake the former Llanelli RFC, Lions and Wales captain to help his charity fundraising efforts.

Terry Davies of Saron Road, Bynea, is providing a rugby ball signed by Scarlets players for auction at the Chairman’s Charity Evening on Wednesday November 27 at the Ashburnham Hotel, Pembrey.

The two men don’t just share a name – both have been awarded the MBE and Cllr Davies played for Llanelli RFC a number of times in the 1960s.

The ball was passed from one Terry Davies to the other at the former British Lion’s home last Friday.

The proceeds from the Charity Night will be going to the British Heart Foundation and Teenage Cancer Trust.

Current auction items include: Scarlets signed shirt, Scarlets signed rugby ball,

rugby ball signed by the Quinnell Family, Brass Miners’ Lamp, Cwmgwili Colliery Plate (limited number), South Wales Collieries Plate and a Bottle of House of Commons Whisky.
