Carmarthen:
On Thursday 14th November 2013 two officers were on plain clothes patrol in Carmarthen town centre in support of operation ‘Christmas cracker’ – a shoplifting operation.
They arrested two people on suspicion of theft at B&M Bargains store.
A man aged 20 has been charged with theft and bailed to appear before Llanelli Magistrates Court for an early hearing on Thursday 5th December. A woman aged 22 was given an adult caution.
A 28 year old Llanelli man has been charged with six counts of theft following several incidents of food and alcohol thefts in Carmarthen town.
He was taken to Llanelli Magistrates Court on Thursday 14th November.
Ammanford:
Officers in Ammanford recently carried out a Vehicle Safety and Vehicle Crime Operation across the Amman Towy NPT area. The event, which took place on Wednesday 13th November, also involved Carmarthshire Environmental Enforcement officers.
During the Operation over 70 vehicles were stop checked.
14 vehicles were given words of advice regarding minor vehicle defects ranging from tyre defects, child seat fitting, lights, and no windscreen washer.
1 person was dealt with for possession of cannabis.
1 vehicle was seized for No Insurance.
1 person reported for no insurance.
“This was a good example of partnership working and sends a signal out to criminals using our roads that we are out there and we are watching,” said PC Steve Morris, who arranged the operation. “The operation was also an important reminder for motorists to make sure their cars are in good working order for the winter months which are just round the corner.”
