CHILDREN of families attending the carnival this year are being asked for the first to participate in what is Llanelli biggest party of the year and decorate their kiddies in Christmas themes.
It is the first time the idea has been tried and if successful it could become hardy annual in the packed calendar of carnival activities.
Carnival organisers have noted that many children have dressed up in the past when not part of the procession and decided they should have the chance of being rewarded for their efforts.
There will be prizes for the best Christmas fancy dress for two age groups of children up to five and five to 10 years.
To be in with a chance of winning children should attend at the Carmarthenshire Radio main stage at 6pm.
The carnival is organised by Llanelli Round Table with support from the county, Llanelli Town and Rural Councils, Carmarthenshire Radio and the Welsh Blood Service. Llanelli Town Council is hosting the carnival this year.
