For the second year running, O2 franchises across the South of Wales will partner with Barnardo’s Cymru, the children’s charity, to encourage people to donate items to create a Christmas that a child or young person will remember.

From the 25th November through to the 15th December we will be opening our doors and accepting presents to go beneath the dedicated Barnardo’s Christmas tree in-store.

Leon Esfahani (Managing Director of InterFranchise)  said:

“Having worked with Barnardo’s last year and seeing the impact that one gift can have on a child, we are extremely excited to be involved again this year and see if we can build on the success of 2012 and make Christmas 2013 a joy for as many children as possible.”

The Swansea based firm, InterFranchise, which owns O2 franchises across Wales will be accepting donations throughout November and December and working with Barnardo’s to distribute them.

Aga Antczak-Jones of Barnardo’sCymru said:

“Poverty is a major threat to the wellbeing of children and families today. In Wales there are 33% children living in poverty, and this figure is rising. Last year over 400 gifts were collected by InterFranchise and I can sincerely tell you that all the donations to our local services made a huge impact as for some children and young people these were the only gifts they received at Christmas.”

“Our big thank you goes to InterFranchise for all the hard work in organising the collection. We are looking forward to delivering more happy moments to children and young people this year. Barnardo’s helps transform the lives of children and families by providing direct support and helping them break the cycle of poverty.
