Go wild in Half term at the Garden!

Wild art, woodland birds and weaving are among the highlights of the spring-themed activities at the National Botanic Garden of Wales this half-term.

“We’re going to show our visitors how to look for and make use of inspirational natural objects,” says organiser Bruce Langridge. “Woodlands, hedgerows and field edges are a treasure trove of sticks, mud and branches that can fashioned into useful and/or beautiful artworks.”

Bruce added: “We think making children’s walking sticks could be the most popular activity of the week.”

Visitors will also get the chance to make seedbombs and their very own spring garden in a tray.

The half-term fun starts on Saturday February 22 and continues until Friday February 28 – and admission is FREE for the under 16s!

Said Bruce: “Hopefully, we’ll be doing all our activities outside but, if the weather isn’t with us, we have lots of undercover venues to choose from so it’s going to be great whatever the weather.”

Also happening at half-term in the Botanic Garden are:

• Seed Swap Sunday: bring your seeds along to swap with other enthusiasts. Sunday February 23.
• Menter Cwm Gwendraeth-organised special Family Fun Day on Wednesday February 26.
• Patchwork Meadow stitching session, Thursday February 27.
