MOT TESTER / TECHNICIAN
Job Purpose: To conduct MOT inspections, issue MOT documentation, ensure security of MOT certification process and implement the MOT scheme in compliance with ministry and company requirements.
MAJOR AREAS OF ACTIVITY
• To conduct Class IV – Vehicle Inspections in accordance with the Vehicle Inspectorates laid down procedures
• To complete all documentation in relation to conducting Class IV Vehicle Inspections and produce returns as required by the Inspectorate
• Carry out general maintenance repairs, servicing and maintenance inspections to a high standard
• Accurately diagnose vehicle mechanical problems using diagnostic equipment as a matter of routine
• Undertake vehicle service and general repairs
• Report to Service Manager recommended additional work for the customer’s approval
• Provide support to the Service Manager and other team members
• Maintain safe working practices and ensure that workshop standards are in accordance with H&S requirements and Company procedures.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Applications are invited from candidates with NVQ Level 3 or equivalent and technical experience gained in a similar environment. MOT Smart Card (current).
Skills approved by Vehicle Inspectorate to conduct Class IV – Vehicle Inspections essential. Class VII preferred.
