RISE and shine young people in search of employment or work experience!
Carmarthenshire Communities First teams, in partnership with Jobs Growth Wales, are offering free breakfasts across Llanelli over the next two weeks to tempt young people out of bed and in to the work place.
They’ll be on hand to discuss work experience and apprenticeship opportunities over a fry-up between 9.30am- 12noon at the following dates and locations:
- Thursday, February 27 at Trimsaran Sports Complex Café
- Friday, February 28 at Calsonic Kansei Sports & Social Club, Felinfoel
- Monday, March 3 at The Scarlets: Heart & Soul Cafe – Parc Y Scarlets
- Thursday, March 6 at South Star Cafe – 2 Brynallt Terrace, Llanelli
- Friday, March 7 at Ramps Skate Park – Llanelli
Carmarthenshire Communities First and Jobs Growth Wales are helping young people living in the following areas: Bigyn, Glanymor, Tyisha, Hengoed, Lliedi, Llwynhendy, Felinfoel, and Trimsaran.
The aim is to help 16-24 year olds that are job ready but have had difficulty securing employment by offering exclusive job placements, paid at or above the national minimum wage for a minimum of 25 hours per week.
Communities First Jobs Growth Wales Mentor Hannah Evans said:” We want to offer as many opportunities as possible to help young people back into work, while employers can benefit from a job-ready member of staff whose costs are covered for six months.”
The programme is to create employment that can be sustained after the funded period, and employers are supported to continue the jobs beyond the first six months.
Executive Board Member for Regeneration and Leisure, Cllr Meryl Gravell, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for young people, and organisations that have identified a need for new people but have had financial restrictions preventing them recruiting.
“And when there’s a free breakfast involved, perhaps it will tempt a few more people to come along!
