THE excitement is building for carnival season in Cwmaman and Ammanford.

The school summer holiday season launches with a double Big Day Out in Cwmaman on June 28th and Ammanford on July 12 putting everyone in the mood for summer frolics.

Both communities will have their own colourful celebrations with all the fun of the fairground, a climbing wall, birds of prey and a host of main arena acts, live music and loads more fun activities.

Carmarthenshire Council teams up with partners Amman United Rugby Club and Cwmaman Town Council in Cwmaman and the Rotary Club of Ammanford and both Ammanford Rugby and Football Clubs to promote the respective events.

Cwmaman will have a Scarlet’s rugby inflatable challenge while Ammanford will stage a football festival to get everyone in World Cup mood.

Leader of Carmarthenshire Council, Cllr Kevin Madge, said everyone was working hard to make sure both occasions would be great fun and live long in the memory.

He said: “We want to hear from anyone who wants to take part or have a stall to help make both Big Days the best we have ever had. It would be great to have scores of children dressed up for the grand parade in Cwmaman Park.”

Local member Cllr Colin Evans said: “This is an opportunity to get smiles back on faces and let our hair down for a riot on fun on these Big Days Out in the Amman Valley.”
