COME and support 1,000 children as they parade through the streets of Llanelli on April 9th to celebrate the National Eisteddfod coming to Carmarthenshire in August.
Pupils from years five, six and seven from schools in the Llanelli area will join in a carnival-ethos jamboree procession through the town showing their passion for the forthcoming Eisteddfod which is being held in Llanelli from August 1-9.
Gethin Thomas, headmaster of Ysgol Dewi Sant and Chairman of the 2014 Carmarthenshire National Eisteddfod Executive Committee, said: “This will be a carnival atmosphere with music, banners and entertainment throughout the morning.
“The aim of the event is to extend a warm welcome to the Carmarthenshire National Eisteddfod and to build momentum for the Eisteddfod that will take place within the county in August.
“It would be great to see the town come out and support the children as they parade through the town.”
The parade will start from the Spring Gardens at 9.45am and parade through the town, St Elli Centre, East Gate, Stepney Street and through the Town Hall grounds on to the Selwyn Samuel Centre at 11.30am.
The National Eisteddfod will be held at Festival Fields, Millennium Coastal Park from August 1-9.
