Dog owners are being invited to have their four-legged friends micro-chipped free of charge.
The council’s Dog Warden Service is holding another micro-chipping event owing to popular demand.
It will be held at Clayton Animal Feeds and Equestrian Supplies, Parc Amanwy, New Road, Ammanford, on April 7 and 8 between 11am and 3pm.
All dogs must be 12 weeks or over and fully vaccinated.
Cllr Jim Jones, Executive Board Member for Public Protection, said: “We’ve held a number of very successful micro-chipping events in the past, and have been overwhelmed by the numbers of dog owners who are taking responsible steps to ensure their dogs can be traced quickly in the event of them becoming lost.
“I’m pleased the team has been able to arrange another event, which I hope will be well-attended.”
Micro-chipping allows dogs to be more easily traced, helping minimise trauma as they are returned to their owner more quickly.
Chips are read by a special scanner which provides the owners details.
Dog owners who can’t make the event can still get their dogs micro-chipped for free. Call 01267 234567 or use the request form on the council’s website.
