Llanelli Spring Pond Walk

Saturday 5th April at 10am.  We’ll meet at the Selwyn Samuel Centre carpark and head past Old Castle Pond toward Sandy Water Park. Keeping to the left, we’ll bimble along to Ashpit Ponds, around to Pwll Lagoons, returning to Old castle Pond via the right side of Sandy Water Park.

Many species of birds frequent these areas including Mute Swan, Mallard, Tufted Duck, Little Grebe, Great Crested Grebe, Coot and Moorhen. Water Rail, Pochard, Shoveler and Gadwall are also visitors.


A great many songbirds can be heard in the area including Blackcap, Reed warbler, Sedge warbler, Cetti’s warbler and Chiff chaff.
