Clean Coasts Week 2014

Following a successful Clean Coasts Week last year, Keep Wales Tidy are pleased to announce we will be running the week again this year from May 10th – 18th.

There are three organised events in Carmarthenshire where KWT / CCC Tidy Towns will be present:

  • 13th – Burry Port. Meet by the yacht club at 10am.
  • 14th – Llansteffan. Meet in the main car park next to the recycling bins at 10am.

The main high profile event in the county will be the same as last year, and will be held on Cefn Sidan beach on the 16th. We hope to get a large crowd together for this cleanup because as some of you will know, the beach is quite long!

We will aim to start the beach clean at 10am, so we ask that volunteers assemble in car park 2 of Pembrey Country Park at 9.30am so we can hand out equipment ready for a 10am start. Car park 2 is here – https://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=51.67668,-4.313335&hl=en&num=1&t=h&z=15.

We will aim to finish at 12pm. It would be helpful if you can bring your own litter picking equipment and gloves if you have some available as beach cleans on this beach have proven very popular in the past and equipment can run out quickly.

Lunch will be provided in the Sidan restaurant in the country park at approximately 12.30pm after the beach clean has finished. I would be grateful if you would confirm your attendance by Thursday, May 8th along with any dietary requirements so that everyone can be catered for.

More information on these events will be on the usual Carmarthenshire monthly events mailout as well as on our facebook and twitter pages: http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#!/pages/Carmarthenshire-Tidy-Towns/163433387142542 / https://twitter.com/CarmsTidyTowns
