Defender calls for unity ahead of final four games!
Angel Rangel has called on his teammates to âstick togetherâ as they go in search of the points to guarantee Premier League survival.
The ten-man Swans went down to a 1-0 defeat against Chelsea at the Liberty Stadium on Sunday to leave themselves just three points clear of the relegation zone.
Chico Flores was shown a red card for two bookable offences early on, but the visitors took all three points courtesy of Demba Baâs second-half strike.
It means the Swans remain in 15th place ahead of next weekendâs trip to Newcastle at St Jamesâ Park.
And Rangel insists it is time to show togetherness as the season nears its climax.
âIt was a difficult game for us on Sunday,â he said. âPlaying with a man short for nearly seventy minutes against a team fighting to win the title was always going to be hard.
âI thought we did well, we looked quite comfortable, but we couldnât quite create too many chances.
âThey scored a scrappy goal and I thought we were a bit unfortunate because we gave everything.
âWe know we need to pick up some more points â there are four games left and we need to stick together.
âItâs in our hands, but it isnât going to be easy and we need to fight. But we also know that if we keep performing like that between now and the end of the season then weâll get the points we need.â
