The project will involve engaging with the community, increasing volunteers and training people in new skills. The Community Commentators Project will allow new volunteers to access training on:
- · How to use Hi-Tec equipment to publicise their community
- · Social media training
- · How to engage with and record community problems and successes.
Community Commentators is about allowing communities to produce the content they want in the way they want and to give a voice to communities to enable them to describe their own reality and challenge the perspectives given through more traditional media.
We will be encouraging community groups to get online, interview groups/MPs/AMs/local government and network/engage with other groups and communities.
Aims/objectives of the project are:
- Make a record of the Community’s problems and concerns
- give communities the ability to comment via all platforms
- Increase community participation
- Up skill volunteers to raise their employability skills (if required)
- Encourage communities to engage more effectively with local authorities and organisations to encourage participation and involvement.
