Boatwatch is a new crime-fighting measure to target criminals who commit burglaries and thefts in the local ‘sea-faring’ community.

The idea of the scheme is to combat issues of crime, such as theft or anti-social behaviour incidents occurring in the harbour. The scheme allows boat owners to have a link with Police in order to combat these issues which are becoming more prominent over recent months.

Members of the scheme will be advised on how to ensure their boat and boating equipment is kept safe and secure and will be advised regarding new technologies available in order to assist in our fight against crime.

PCSO Phillip Davies says: ‘We welcome members of the boating community to come and take advantage of this new initiative – and it will be a great for us to meet people in the boating community and for them to voice any concerns.

If you would like to join the scheme, please contact PCSO Phillip Davies 8161 at Burry Port Police Station on 101 or come visit us on Saturday 7th June or Sunday 8th of June between 12pm and 4pm at Burry Port Harbour.”
