Residents in Llanelli have been given a behind the scenes tour of their newly refurbished community fire station.
At an open evening at the station last Friday (9 May), residents were taken on a tour of the station’s upgraded facilities which include en-suite accommodation for the crew and a modern community room for use by the local community. Local residents were also given the opportunity to meet with the Carmarthenshire Command personnel who are now working out of the station, along with the dedicated community safety team for Llanelli.
Deborah Ford, Community Safety Officer for Llanelli also provided residents with an insight into some of the initiatives the safety team will be running over the coming months.
There was a great turn out for the event which was arranged not only to give residents an insight into the work of personnel at the station, but also as a thank you for their continued support throughout the refurbishment period.
The community station will be officially opened by the Minister for Local Government and Government Business Lesley Griffiths AM on 5th June.
