Pupils at Llanelliâs Coedcae School had to leave their classrooms last week following a false alarm and reports of a smell of gas.
Staff evacuated children to a place of safety on the school site shortly after 1.30pm on Friday afternoon, and emergency and gas services attended to investigate.
Pupils were allowed back to their classrooms at around 2.30pm after it was concluded that it was a false alarm.
Cllr Keith Davies, Executive Board Member for Education, said: âFortunately, emergency services quickly established that it was a false alarm. Staff and pupils are to be commended for their swift and calm response.â
