Llanelli Music Scene‘s Metal Night took place at the Kazbar Rock Club on Saturday 7th June with Etherian playing their  first ever Llanelli gig and headliners Within War who played their third gig in Llanelli Town

Review of the night by Barry Bungalow

Etherian – having only 2 of the members play a set, as one was unable to make it, was still a massive treat – a cross between power metal and blends of both scandinavian death and black metal, which has left this reviewer jaw-dropped.

Opening their set with an instrumental piece, this originally 3 piece band played a compilation of their original music, with titles like ‘Those Who Fight’ and ‘The Faceless Man’, to a backing track, didn’t impede the guitarists one bit, having nailed the timings perfectly, and ?even having one of the guitarist take charge of the lead vocals? didn’t diminish the performance. After playing an impressive set, they finished on another instrumental and left this reviewer gobsmacked at such an impressive performance.

Within War – a very solid funky pop punk style intro that seamlessly blended into a heavy metal finale, was an amazing opening song to an incredible set, by this 4 piece band,  which instantly proved why they deserved to headline tonight.

Having watched them in a previous Music Scene gig, and stating I was looking forward to hearing them again, I was happy to see them headline.

Within War consist of a lead guitarist, a drummer, a bassist, as well as a lead vocalist/rhythm guitarist  and they went over really well with the crowd. Playing plenty of crowd favourite rock  songs again proof of why they were chosen as the headlining band.
