This Friday 13th June Llanelli Music Scene hits the Masons Arms with what promises to be a mental metal packed night. We have been fore warned about the aptly named, ‘self penned’ band psycho and resident lunatic  and to expect the unexpected!

Here’s what headline band Fall of Cronus vocalist Cozy and Bass Player Scott  had to say about their band  in our ten questions feature…….

1 Tell us about yourselves, ( Names and role in the band)

I’m Scott McDonnell I’m the Bassist for Fall Of Cronus

I’m Cozy vocalist and resident band lunatic from FoC

2 How long has the band been together?

Scott: We’ve been together a mere 8 months even though everyone thinks we’ve been together for years, but we just play well together.

Cozy: We haven’t been together all that long as a full line up. We used to play to drum tracks on my laptop before we found a reliable drummer.

3 What are your musical influences?

Scott: For me personally I’m a huge Korn fan and grew up listening Korn, Slipknot, Limp Bizkit and Disturbed. Watching Fieldy play the bass in such a unique way really inspired me to want to learn to play bass guitar and be in a band.

Cozy: Musically I will listen to anything as long as it’s good lol! A real musician doesn’t just listen to one style of music and I know Scott our bassist loves a bit of Bieber though !

4 What is it about your band that makes you different to others?

Cozy:  not sure tbh

Scott:  For me I think it’s because we are a big mixed bag of different styles that really work well together, we have my bass style which is very KoRn like, we have Ash and Luke on guitars who play very different but work so well together, we have Scott Hurford on drums who I could literally watch all day, he’s such a drumming power house and then we have Cozy who is not only a great vocalist he’s just insane, sorry dude but that’s the only way to describe what you do.  Its terrifying but incredible to watch him, all of them are truly talented and I am very grateful to be in the band with them. I set out for us to be different to every other metal band that’s out there at the moment and I think we’ve done it, I’m very proud of what we have done.

5 What plans have Fall of Cronus got for the rest of 2014?

Cozy : Recording in mid August;  hopefully a few more gigs and see what happens .

Scott:  Well after the Masons gig we have a couple of gigs in Swansea coming up including supporting Europe’s No.1 tribute act to Slipknot, “KnotSlip” then in August we are recording our E.P which I can not wait for!

6 Are there any funny stories behind why a particular song was written?

Scott:  I think I’ll let Cozy answer this one lol

Cozy:  I did a lot of writing at the beginning of 2013 to help me deal with losing my Dad then later on in the year my marriage broke down too so I’ve used the writing process to help me deal with that as well, but band practice is always a giggle we rip into each other without relent and it’s funny as fuck.

7 Are there any messages you are trying to get across in the music?

Cozy: There is no real message in our music just me venting in a positive way.

Scott : Yeah, I guess from my point of view there’s no message but the music is a way for me to express myself and give back to a medium that gave me so much. I Just want people to rock out and enjoy what we bring to the industry

8 What are the downsides / upsides of being in the band ?

Scott: There aren’t really any downsides for me but the upsides are just being in the band. I have 4 incredible band mates and we have had such a blast the 8 months we’ve been together, I love the songs we’ve written, getting onto the stage and seeing people enjoying and rocking out to all of our hard work that really pays off.

Cozy:  There is no downside to being in a band with my best mates.

9 What can people who come out to see you at the Masons Arms Llanelli on Friday 13th June

expect ?

Scott:  Hahaha without a doubt you can expect Cozy to do his thing, he’ll do something crazy probably going mental and scaring people! But I think everyone who comes down will have a great time.

Cozy: Expect the unexpected I never plan anything what ever happens, happens and I best say sorry now

10 Where can people who want to know more about Fall of Cronus find out about you?

Scott : www.facebook.com/fallofcronus

Cozy :  If anyone wants to know anything about us we are only on facebook atm but if you are at a gig then just come ask and hang out with the S.M.D.B

Come down and check out Fall of Cronus at the Masons Arms from 8pm on Friday 13th June . You don’t  want to miss this.  Also watch out this week  for our ten questions feature on the superb female fronted Hunters Grace who also play the Masons Arms on Friday 13th June.
