TWO events are taking place at Carmarthenshire County Museum this month.
The council run museum in Abergwili has organised free events for the last two Saturdays of the month.
Well known local artist Charlotte Leadbeater will hold two workshops for children on Saturday, June 21.
The event, being held to celebrate Children’s Art Week 2014, will focus on the museum’s exhibition on Carmarthen-born artist Edward Morland Lewis.
The free workshops start promptly at 11 am and 2 pm and are suitable for children aged from seven to 11 years old.
Charlotte has been involved in art education for 30 years, and is artist in residence at Abergwili Primary School plus a founder member of King Street Gallery in Carmarthen, where she also runs workshops.
On Saturday, June 28 the museum will host a Roman day for with a difference.
Sally Pointer, an experienced presenter, educator, and lecturer, will be exploring the world of Roman fashions and cosmetics.
Sally may ask for one or two volunteers who feel brave enough for a Roman makeover!
Volunteers are also needed to join Lucius for some Roman army training, and Gareth Risborough will be demonstrating some traditional Roman crafts.
This activity is suitable for children aged seven and over only.
