COLESHILL Centre is doing a Wimbledon and serving strawberries and scones at their free entry – The Big Event – on Thursday June 26.

Doors will be open to all to discover what goes on at Wales’ first Centre for Economic Inclusion.

It is a magical place where people of all abilities can get involved in anything from IT up skilling to pottery and just about everything in between.

In a typical week more than 1,000 can pass through Coleshill Centre’s doors of this ground breaking project that is pioneering the route to inclusive living.

Carmarthenshire Council’s Executive Board member for Health and Social Care, Cllr Jane Tremlett, said: “This is an opportunity for anyone to come along and see how community works at the Coleshill Centre and enjoy the strawberries and scones on offer.

“It is really heart warming to see so many organisations come together to make this Centre work and give people of all abilities an opportunity to engage.

“I truly welcome this open door event. It looks as if it will be a lot of fun for anyone who wants to pop in and see how the council is enhancing the future of inclusive living.”

Pupils from nearby Pentip School Choir will be singing a welcome to visitors at 2pm and there will be whole host of have-a-try opportunities for visitors from reflexology to wood turning. There are craft stalls, information stalls, an art demonstration, hot dogs, a food coop and competitions too.

Centre manager, Alison Williams, said: “A lot of people have no idea what goes on within the Centre. The Big Events is one of many days planned that enables us to showcase our project to the wider community.”
