Pembrey Burrows Walk.

This Saturday 28th June. Meet at the FREE car park on the left, just before the entrance to Pembrey Country Park at 10am.

This walk will be approx 2.5 mile long and will take approx 2hrs. The walk will take us through the scenic Burrows with beautiful, distant views of Pembrey Mountain and Burry Port Harbour. The dunes are dotted with nesting birds, wild orchids and a plethora of wild flowers.

The unspoilt surroundings and recent weather conditions have made it an amazing place to see an abundance of interesting snails and caterpillars. We’ll cross the dunes and continue our walk along Cefn Sidan, with breath-taking views across to the Gower Peninsula. We’ll have a bimble along the strandline and see what interesting creatures and objects that the sea has left for us.

We’ll cross the dunes and head back to our starting point. Although it’s quite a short walk, it is quite a taxing one because walking on sand is a real workout for the legs. Please make sure you have suitable footwear for walking on the sand as much of the walk is on the beach. The walk will not be suitable for prams, wheelchairs etc.

If the sun is out please make sure you have sun protection and if it rains, then bring your waterproofs. New walkers are always welcome.
