It’s amazing how quickly everything is growing around the pond area. In some places you can hardly see the river! But, how lovely to see the bees, butterflies and damselflies hovering about enjoying the wild growth and the sun.

On the pond the swans are happily floating around and there is a beautiful Moorhen family! Mother Moorhen was busy feeding her babies with a chunk of bread she had found. Also there was a family of ducks to be seen, only briefly, they disappeared after a few minutes. A resident robin was busy looking for food, it was flying back and for feeding it’s young. It always amazes me the instincts they have.

How wonderful wildlife and nature is, but sadly it still has to be said that some of us humans are still not appreciating it at all!!! Fishing line, beer cans, sweetcorn tins etc again are littered everywhere! Why? i don’t understand as there ARE bins there to be used. Is it adults, children or both doing this? I really don’t know as both are there fishing and visiting. I hope and pray that the wildlife and their babies don’t get injured by this rubbish. The area has been cleaned many times by volunteers, just imagine the mess it would be now if no one bothered. Please, please use the bins provided and show some respect for your surroundings.
