Llanelli is well connected to the bus and rail network so why not avoid the hassle of driving and visit this year’s Eisteddfod by public transport?
A free shuttle bus service will run between the town’s rail and bus stations and the Maes every 20 minutes. The first bus will start from the rail station at 08.05am and the Bus Station at 08.10am, returning from the Maes at 08.30am, and will run every 20 minutes to and from the Maes until the last bus which leaves the Rail Station at 22.05pm and Bus Station at 22.10pm, and returns from the Maes at 22.30pm.
Trains run frequently to and from Llanelli on the West Wales line from Newport, Cardiff, Bridgend, Port Talbot, Neath, Swansea and Gowerton, and from Pembrokeshire, Whitland and Carmarthen, and you can also get to Llanelli on the Heart of Wales line from Mid Wales down through Llandovery, Llandeilo and Ammanford.
Llanelli is also well connected by bus with a number of regular services from a variety of destinations. The following bus services can all be used to bring you to the centre of Llanelli where you can continue your journey to and from the Maes on the shuttle bus, as well as spending some time in Llanelli –

There are also town bus services in Llanelli and Burry Port which can bring you to meet the shuttle buses.
All of these buses are operated by First Cymru so you can take advantage of their wide range of money saving tickets, such as unlimited travel on First’s local buses for just £6.70 a day or £22 for a week (adult fares, further discounts available for young persons and families).
These services will also have connections beyond the places shown, so for example you can travel from places such as Aberystwyth, Lampeter, Cardigan, Newcastle Emlyn, Llansteffan, to connect with these buses, and in North Carmarthenshire and South Ceredigion the BWCABUS service can help you access these services as well.
If you’re connecting from further afield from Carmarthensire, Ceredigion or Pembrokeshire on a service operated by a different bus company, the West Wales Rover Ticket will bring you all the way to Llanelli, including the above services, for just £7.50 a day for adults and £4.00 for children. A new weekly Rover Ticket costs just £28 for adults and £14 for children.
And of course All Wales Concessionary Travel Pass holders can travel for free on all of these services.
