Black Mountains Falconry are back at the National Botanic Garden of Wales in Carmarthenshire this weekend (August 9-10) promising two days of stunning flying displays.
Harris hawks, red-tailed buzzards and an eagle owl will take to the air as part of two daily set-piece shows, at 12 noon and 2pm, and there will be a chance for visitors to take up the gauntlet and try their hand at falconry themselves.
And, on Sunday, the Belmont Choir, from Swansea, will be performing in the Great Glasshouse. Formed in 1964, as the Brian Morris Singers (Brian is still an active member of the choir), they have sung for Diana, Princess of Wales and appeared on the legendary talent programme Opportunity Knocks (the finished second!). They have a varied and extensive repertoire to suit
most tastes. As well as the traditional Welsh male voice songs, they sing spiritual songs and hymns, folksongs, and modern and popular songs from the shows.
The Garden is open from 10am-6pm both days and the birds of prey display and the choir’s performance are free to all Garden visitors.
