Carmarthenshire police will be putting additional resources into tackling violent crime and antisocial behaviour linked to alcohol throughout September.
Crime figures show that Carmarthenshire is already one of the safest places to live and work in the whole of England and Wales, however we can always do more. Therefore police in the county along with various partner agencies, will be supporting a pan Wales and England campaign to drive the figures down even further.
The campaign will focus on increased activity tackling night time violent crime in our town centres, along with additional measures in relation to domestic violence and drink driving.
Insp James Davies said: “Expect to see more police in the town centres on weekend evenings, regular checks of licensed premises, increased proactivity around domestic violence and if you are going to have a drink, do not drive.”
The campaign will run from the August bank holiday weekend until the end of September.
