Scarlets Head Coach Wayne Pivac believes Scarlets have a big week ahead as they prepare to take on Benetton Treviso at Parc y Scarlets next Saturday evening.

Leinster outscored the Scarlets by six tries to two in front of over 16,000 supporters at the RDS on Saturday afternoon.

Scarlets were forced to reshuffle the backline ahead of kick-off as fullback Liam Williams pulled up with an injury to his groin.

Head coach Pivac spoke after the game about re-focusing this coming week; “No side likes getting beaten like that and we’re no different.

“It’ll be a big week. What we have to do is take what we need to out of that game and move on from that.

“We’ll refocus for the next game and make sure when we get home that we can do what Leinster did – make the next opposition pay.”

Scarlets vice-captain Scott Williams crossed for his side’s opening try after 13 minutes. Pivac went on to say: “It’s always nice to get points early. We certainly started well but then a couple of poor decisions, a loose ball here and there and our reaction time to those sorts of things wasn’t good enough.

“Leinster went hard at the ball on the breakdown, they were a little bit more aggressive than us in that area and got some good turnovers out of it. A lot of those points were gifted and we made it look easy for them at times.

“Hopefully we’ll have a full squad to choose from next week and we’ll get our act back together.”

Scarlets take on Benetton Treviso at Parc y Scarlets on Saturday 20th September, kick-off 6pm. The game won’t be televised – make sure you’re at the Parc to help get the league campaign back on track.

Liam Williams will be re-assessed by Scarlets’ medical team on Monday and a medical update will be issued in due course.
