The Llangunnor community has pulled out all the stops to celebrate Older Persons Week (September 29-October 3).

A full week of activities has been pulled together to help older people in Carmarthen socialise, make new friends and find out about the support networks available locally.

The events will be held at the community lounge of Yr Aelwyd Sheltered Scheme.

Anyone is welcome to attend the activities, and those who’ve signed up to the Spice Time Banking initiative can spend their Time Credits to attend many of the events.

Organiser Lis Duffy said: “We’re looking forward to meeting new people and introducing people to some new hobbies. Whilst I’ve been organising the event, I’ve relied on the goodwill of people, including the tenants of Yr Aelwyd, and they’ve been very keen, which has been heart-warming.”
