Carmarthenshire councillors have paid tribute to former Scarlets boss Stuart Gallacher who died at the weekend.
Council Leader Cllr Kevin Madge said he would be sorely missed but always remembered.
Cllr Madge said: “Stuart dedicated his life to rugby, both as a player, then as an officer, and in particular to the Scarlets, where he became Chief Executive.
“He wasn’t afraid to speak his mind, but he got things done and played a huge role in rugby across Wales.
“His heart , however, was in the Scarlets and his legacy will live on through them.
“He helped deliver Parc y Scarlets and create something that will be his legacy for hundreds of years to come.”
Mr Gallacher died at the age of 68, just months after retiring from his role as Chair of Regional Rugby Wales.
Councillor Meryl Gravell said she worked closely with Mr Gallacher during the development of Parc y Scarlets.
“His commitment and dedication to rugby and the Scarlets in particular was unquestionable,” Cllr Gravell said.
“He was a well known legend of a man who worked tirelessly to provide the best for rugby, both locally and nationally.
“Whilst Scarlets players, staff and fans and the rugby fraternity across Wales will grieve his passing, our sympathy must go to his family who have suffered such a great loss.”
