Two of Scarlets’ next generation players helped inspire some of the region’s future stars on Tuesday night at Lampeter RFC.

Scarlets’ young guns, loosehead prop Wyn Jones and hooker Darran Harris, headed out to the region with the Community Department on Tuesday evening to help deliver a training session at Lampeter RFC.

With the region taking on Northampton Saints this Friday night in the LV= Cup, at Parc y Scarlets kick-off 7.30pm, Wyn and Darran headed West as part of the region’s community roadshow.

Wyn Jones, from Llandovery, said: “There’s a lot of energy and enthusiasm at the Parc at the moment as we look ahead to the LV= Cup opener against Saints on Friday night.

“It’s great for me to have an opportunity to work alongside experienced players like Phil (John) and Pete (Edwards) and to continue learning from them.

“Both myself and Darran had a great welcome at Lampeter and it’s nice to have the opportunity to get out into the community. I’ve played all my rugby at Llandovery from a very young age and appreciate the work that the grassroots clubs put in to developing the next generation.”

Lampeter Under 7s and 8s attended Scarlets v Leicester Tigers on 25th October and as a thank you for their continued support Scarlets’ Community Department held a training session at the club on Tuesday evening.
