Well it’s been announced, the new Bond film is titled SPECTRE.
Sam Mendes continues directing duties after the huge success of Skyfall with Daniel Craig back as Bond; joined by returning cast members Rory Kinnear as Tanner, Ben Whishaw as Q, Naomie Harris as Moneypenny and Ralph Fiennes as M.
Additional Cast include Sherlock’s Andrew Scott as Denbigh, WWE Wrestler/Gaurdians of the Galaxy’s David Bautista as Mr. Hinx, Monica Bellucci as Lucia Sciarra, Léa Seydoux as Madeleine Swann and Christoph Waltz Oberhauser.
It’s safe to say that after the poorly recieved introduction of criminal organisation QUANTUM in Quantum of Solace (and a lengthy copyright battle) that it’s been decided to return to something fans are familiar with. So If your’re not a Bond fan, SPECTRE stands for SPecial Executive for Counter-intelligence, Terrorism, Revenge and Extortion (Someone really wanted their initials to spells SPECTRE) and were the main antagonists in Bond films Thunderball and Dr. No. It wouldn’t be surprising to see them (and hopefully Waltz) take on the villian role for the next two or three films.
There are no specifics on certain characters as yet but with a name like Mr. Hinx, Bautista is likely to be the chief henchman of the film. Léa Seydoux has been tipped to be the ‘Bond girl’ while It’s strongly suspected that Waltz’s character Oberhauser will take a similar role to that of Blofeld in previous films. He’s definitely capable of being a great villian (see Inglorious Basterds for proof), regardless it’ll be interesting to see him and Daniel Craig sharing scenes.
So set your Geiger counter-Buzz saw-Magnet-Remote detonator-Laser-Grappling hook watches for the UK release on October 23rd 2015.
