Scarlets can today confirm that hooker Emyr Phillips will undergo surgery in the New Year.
Phillips, 27, dislocated his right shoulder in the West Wales derby clash against Ospreys at the Liberty Stadium last Saturday and will undergo surgery on Friday, 2nd January.
It is expected that Phillips will be sidelined for up to 12 weeks.
