A potential £446,000 pay-off for a Carmarthenshire County Council boss Mark James has been branded “a disgrace” by Plaid Cymru.
Vaughan Williams, Plaid Llanelli Westminster candidate tweeted:
“The potential pay off for Mark James £446,000 is a total disgrace! It is indefensible and wholly unacceptable!”
The BBC report that Plaid Cymru MP Jonathan Edwards and AM Rhodri Glyn Thomas have both criticised the reported figure in a possible deal for chief executive Mark James.
One tweeter, Jason Nickels wrote:
“It’s just simply immoral a public servant gets this kind of tax payers cash! #immoral”
The BBC also report that the Labour group, which controls the council with the Independents, has said it will not support any severance package for Mr James.
