Dear Time2Talk
We’ve been together for over 20 years and now the kids have left the home. Our sex life dwindled obviously when the children were home but now they’ve gone, my husband wants us to put a spark back into it.
We’ve looked at and bought lingerie, films and the usual Ann Summers items to enhance our bedroom fun.
But, now he wants to go further and try swinging. I love my husband very much, he loves me and says that as we’re such a strong couple, it shouldn’t be a problem as it would only be sex.
I have thought sometimes what it would be like to be with another man but I think I’d get jealous if he went with a woman.
What do you think?
Thanks
Potential Swinger
Dear potential Swinger,
It sounds like you’ve tried a few things already that may improve your sex life.
The bottom line is that this will only have a good chance of succeeding if both of you are putting the effort in. This needs to be talked about first. Check that you are both committed to wanting to improve your sex life.
Swinging isn’t a decision you should make lightly. You don’t want any regrets. Don’t go rushing into doing this. Discuss it with your partner and don’t forget both of you need to be equally happy about going swinging.
If you both decide to go ahead then make sure it’s safe sex. HIV is on the rise in Wales and not to mention other STD’s. Plus pregnancy risk.
Take your time to make this decision and if you are both happy to go ahead then that is okay.
Good luck and enjoy the process of improving your sex life.
Gemma
