Pupils are to benefit from cycling thanks to funding for adaptive bikes.

Some ten cycles including go carts and balance bikes will be used by youngsters as part of the school’s sporting activities programme.

The £2,000 Swans Aid grant was secured with the support of the council’s sport and leisure team last year, along with a cash injection from community donations.

The new bikes will enable children to practice new skills, develop further cycling skills, as well as having fun and keeping active as possible.

Teaching staff are keen to see everyone taking part and will link up with the after school club.

The council’s sport and leisure officer, Rhian Davies said: “It’s great that the school can now develop further physical activity opportunities, whilst at the same time allowing the pupils to practice new cycling skills.”
